#Spotlight - HBD to AAGPBL's Dottie Kamenshek
Dorothy "Dottie" Kamenshek one of the greats of the AAGPBL was born on this date in 1925.
She began playing in the league at 17 and became a star for the Rockford Peaches - becoming a 7 time All-Star with 2 batting titles and would finish her career as the leader in hits and total bases. In her career, she struck out only 81 times in 3,736 at bats.
Her post career would see her return to her native Ohio to work as a physical therapist, before moving to Los Angeles to eventually become the Chief of Therapy Services at the Los Angeles County Children's Services.
A member of the AAGPBL's display at the Baseball Hall of Fame - she was immortalized in the Cooperstown Collection from Starting Lineup in their 1997 series.
