#Spotlight - John Donaldson - The Unknown Superstar

#Spotlight – This week we are paying tribute to the players of the Negro Leagues and their post playing exploits. Today is John Donaldson, who played all over the country, often in areas where the Klan was active making baseball the least of his worries.

After playing baseball for 30 years, Donaldson finally retired in 1941 in Chicago, where many say he would go to work for the United States Postal Service. In 1949, Donaldson would return to Baseball as the first full time African American scout working for the Chicago White Sox, where he is credited with finding Bob Boyd and Sam Hairston.

Donaldson would also pursue Willie Mays and Ernie Banks only to see them sign with other teams.
